Fashion 101: The Bra Book

June 9th, 2011

I have been reading some reviews about The Bra Book: The Fashion Formula to Finding the Perfect Bra by Jene Luciani and wanted to share some of the information I found.

Jene Luciani is a style expert, one of the top fashion journalist, editor, and media mogul.

The Bra Book can help girls, like myself, finally understand the way to find a perfect bra. The book gives detailed aspects of the bra, including its information, photos, diagrams, which bra to wear under what outfit, bra care and breast health.

Statistics show that 80% of American woman wear the wrong bra. We can all be the outsiders of that statistic once reading this guide and follow the trend.

After learning about this guide I am going to purchase one for sure!

Jenny From the Block no More

May 24th, 2011

You may not like pop but if fashion is your thing there not doubt you would love this new single by Jennifer Lopez. Mute the sound and watch the video. Pause when needed because you don’t want to miss any of those striking, flawlessly draped garments. Lopez collaborated video with Lil Wayne was shot in Chichen-Itza, Mexico.

1. The singer was spotted wearing an ethnic, sensual, long, spitted snake-print sundress with matching, headband, bracelet, and shoes.

2. She also wore a salmon colored dress with what looked like a crocheted top. The lower half of the dress looked like pieced of angel hair pasta.

3. She extenuates her legs and killer abs when she breaks it down with two other dancers in a metallic two-piece.

4. Shinning under the sun in a metal glazed green  jumpsuit Lopez lays elongated.

Jennifer Lopez looks spectacular for a singer, dancer, and actress at 40.

Hat Attack

May 17th, 2011

Is it one of those days where whatever you do to your hair isn’t working?! Or do you just want to look glamorous without having to wear too many stunner pieces?  Well, you’re lucky it’s spring because the floppy brimmed hat is here to rescue you from bad hair day anxiety. The hippie and 70’s classic fashion accessory is making a great statement on the runways this spring; the nonchalant and Zen like feeling is back. Favorites from last year are also making a comeback so take those dusty hats out of your attic and rock it.

Add some personality to your hat: bow for innocents and sophistication, a whimsical flower, or a grosgrain band for romance and mystery. Make a statement without doing too much.

Winter Clothes Off, Summer Body Out

May 9th, 2011

Summer is almost here!  Isn’t it about time to shed off those turtle necks, long sleeves, and jackets? Those heat stroking clothes can’t come off until your body is ready to be seen. Since the sun’s rays will be beaming—even more— soon, the time to put that hot chocolate away and whip up a cold fruity shake or just drink V8 has come. Let the work-your-body-for-the-summer games begin. Say goodbye to indoor work out and hello to outdoor fitness routines.

Try running, it’s free. Run outside: Change of scenery will keep you enthused. Pace yourself: pick a pace that you can keep up for your miles run. Make a play list: sort a playlist that has beats that go along with your pace. Play a game: set a goal to make it to that billboard or that bus stop to keep you motivated. Slow down: Take a break. Don’t stop and sit. Walk around till you catch your breath. Future Plans: Set a time to run at least 3 times a week, while adding more distance to the routine.

Traditionally Modern

May 1st, 2011

The chaotic scene from the Royal Wedding has died down—ah, what a relief. We can now settle down and truly appreciate the beauty of all the wedding attire.

Catharine Middleton, now Duchess of Cambridge, arrived in a modest, long ivory satin gown which was embellished with lace and touched with detailed ivory flowers designed, by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen. Her dress had an elegant plunging neckline which coved a heart shaped bodice. The detailed lace work ran down her arms to her wrist with sophistication. In her hand she gently held a bouquet of myrtles, lilies, and hyacinth flowers. Her mid-length, round train lingered smoothly on the ground behind. As she walked toward the alter those who got the rare view saw the 58 buttons closing to the gown. Kate wore something borrowed, a 1936 Cartier halo tiara, from the Queen. Covering her loose curly hair along with the tiara was a sheer white veil. Something new given to Kate by her parents hung on her ears—diamond earrings in the shape of oak leaves with a stylized drop pear-shaped and diamond tassel balanced in the core. Catharine was traditionally modern.

We are Gathered Here Today

May 1st, 2011

Most television channel, every magazine, news paper and blog cover line story is about the Royal Wedding. No one can miss out on this event even if they wanted to. You will even find mugs, hats, flags and dolls to keep as souvenirs for the Royal Wedding.

His proposal took place this past October when the couple ventured in Africa. Prince William presented his bride-to-be with the diamond and sapphire engagement ring his mother, Princess Diana had worn.

The I Do’s occurred , April 29, 2011, in the lavish Majestic Westminster Abbey in London. This spectacular event will definitely be written in history books all over the world.
