Twiggy Then
For the past couple of weeks there has been such an obsession with the British lads. Everyone has been trying to be a part of the new British trend, but let’s bring it back to when the trend began. I came across some looks that were from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s that caught my attention—the housewife dress, the wide leg pants, and printed tops.
Twiggy was the face of the 60’s. At 16, she became the first prominent British teenage model. She was known for her androgynous looks, large eyes, long eyelashes, thin build, and short hair. The advertisement with her on the bus in London flashed through my mind. She was promoting clothing on the streets from Marks and Spencer. I wondered on April 28th, 2011, “What is Twiggy up to?” Well Bloggies, Twiggy Lawson, former judge on American’s Next Top Model, has her own clothing and accessories line: Twiggy London. She recently launched her own array of bed linens: Twiggy Bed Linen Collection. And surprisingly she has an album which was previously shelved that Twiggy recorded in 1979
There was a release of a previously shelved album that Twiggy recorded in 1979; Heaven in my eyes, a discotheque, contained the eight original tracks and four remixes. Great success she is.
