October is recognized around the world as Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Many women are affected by this disease each year. But with the help of the American Cancer Society and all of there supporters from the Westchester County area they have raised a total of $357,325.65 to date. The walk will take place in Westchester County around the Purchase area on October 18^th 2009.  Here are a few tips from the American Cancer Society to stay well!

Get recommended cancer screenings, like a yearly mammogram and breast exam starting at age 40.

Be physically active.

Eat a healthy diet.

Stop smoking or avoid tobacco smoke and encourage others to do the same.
