Tips for Shopping on a Budget

Tuesday, May 5th, 2009

Shop for foundational wardrobe pieces first. These include a classic black dress, suits, or shirts in classic styles.

Look for quality construction and fabric; these are the items to invest in, as they will last through more than 1 or 2 years.

Simply because the economy is experiencing a downturn doesn’t mean that your wardrobe has to look out of style.

With a little forethought and some planning, you can shop for fashionable clothes on a budget.

Knowing what clothes you have, what clothes you need and what clothes you want will allow you to spend your money wisely and not end up with items in your closet that were a waste of money.

Knowing where to look for bargains will give you the best of both worlds–cute, trendy clothes and money in the bank.

Mix and match- pair up that classic jacket with jeans, a skirt or pants!

Take care of your clothing so you prolong the life of your wardrobe.

Tips for Dressing for an interview

An interview can be stressful and scary, but it very important to show up looking perfect (including hair, makeup and clothing) and feeling confident.  First impressions are lasting impressions and you want to put your best YOU out there.

1. Find out what the company employees wear.  It may be casual, business casual or business dress.  It is always better to dress up then dress down.

2. A perfectly fitted skirt suit is really perfect for any type of business interview.  Make sure that the skirt is a little above the knee or below….never wear a mini!  Check out www.aprilmarin.com for the perfect custom skirt suits.

3.  If you are going to wear a sweater and pants, make sure everything is fitted, clean and pressed.

4.   Avoid using too much makeup or hairspray.  You want to feel comfortable and not be too overdone.

5.   Get a manicure or do your nails yourself.  A great color is mademoiselle by essie.  It is not too showy, but looks clean and professional.

6.  Pick a nice structured bag that is clean and organized.

7.  Put on a smile and remember that how you look will give you confidence.
